PMI- Taipei, Taiwan Chapter (PMI-TW) has served for PMI as a local component in Taiwan to promote project management knowledge and PMP certification since it was established in October 1999. PMI-TW also officially registered/ incorporated in Taiwan’s Ministry of Interior in April 2003, as a non-profit nationwide organization, subordinated to PMI. During 2005 and 2006, PMI-TW’s growth rate has becoming one of the highest among all PMI components in the world.

The major Project Management related events of PMI-TW include:

1. Monthly member meeting conducted by workshops, lectures, or seminars,training,field trip
2. Quarterly board meetings
3. Annually member conference
4. Annually international symposium/conference
5. PMI-TW e-newsletter

In 2006, PMI-TW has focused on providing seminars related to best practices of project management in different industries from our members, who share their valuable experiences with other professionals. These events have aroused great attention and satisfaction with the best services and attractive topics in PM fields. As a consequence, attendees of the seminar has grown to an average of 180 people per event. This is one of the driving force to double our members for the past year. This great success is consistent with what PMI advocates to integrate PMBOK knowledge areas with the implemented best practices, which has been approved as the right direction.
