Christine Yau was the President of the Project Management Institute Hong Kong Chapter (PMIHK) from July 2019 to Aug 2025, having dedicated her volunteer efforts to the chapter since 2007. In her role, she has significantly contributed to enhancing member services by spearheading networking events and leading a 16-member Executive Committee. Christine has successfully initiated corporate collaborations aimed at uplifting staff skills while boosting PMIHK’s membership and revenue.
In addition to her leadership at PMIHK, Christine served as a council member for the Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) from 2017 to 2023, focusing on membership and talent development. She was the chairperson of HKCS FACE, the first IT women’s club in Hong Kong, which aims to attract more women to the ICT field, foster connections among female members, and provide engagement opportunities within the industry. Christine has also represented Hong Kong as a judge for the Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology Alliance (APICTA) Awards across multiple years (from 2018 to 2023) with more than 16 countries from Asia Pacific participated.
Christine’s contributions extend to academia, where she has been appointed Chairperson of the Departmental Advisory Committee for the Department of Computer Science at City University of Hong Kong from January 2023 to December 2025. Her community involvement includes serving as a co-opted member of Haven of Hope Hospital and being part of various innovation and technology assessment panels appointed by the HKSAR Secretary for Innovation and Technology.
Professionally, Christine has held multiple significant roles, including Head of Communications and Chief Technology Officer at LPS, where she managed revenue and P&L and was instrumental in developing strategic initiatives to drive business growth. As Chief Technology Officer, she focused on new technology exploration, solution reviews, and ecosystem partnerships, aligning technology strategies with overall business objectives to enhance competitive advantage. Christine was the acting Chief Information Officer at MTR Corporation Ltd., the public transport that serves Hong Kong, a city ranked by international surveys as the world’s leader in public transit before she joined LPS. Prior to joining MTR, Christine led the development and delivery of comprehensive information system strategies and architectures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals at PCCW Solutions Ltd. Her strategic oversight included managing cross-functional teams to drive innovation and optimize project outcomes across diverse industries and international markets. With a strong foundation in strategic planning, Christine has successfully guided teams in bidding for tenders and expanding operations into Asia Pacific markets, including opening offices in Singapore and Malaysia. Her ability to craft and implement effective strategies has been pivotal in navigating complex business environments and fostering sustainable growth.
Christine holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Melbourne, a Master in Information Technology Management from the University of Wollongong, an Executive Diploma in Finance & Corporate Accounting from HKU Space, and a Master of Applied Business Research from Swiss Business School. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration at Swiss Business School.
