The Kanban Method is often referred to as “the alternative path to agility”, distinguishing it from other agile approaches in its unique characteristics. Firstly, Kanban encourages gradual improvements from existing processes, eliminating the need for radical changes. Moreover, it doesn’t prescribe specific role definitions, emphasizes visual management, and underlines the limitation of work in progress. Unlike other agile methods based on iterative regimes, Kanban is focusing on optimizing the flow of work. Additionally, in terms of applicability, it’s not limited to software development or information technology like most approaches. In summary, Kanban offers a set of flexible and adaptable principles and practices, allowing organizations to achieve agility according to their own needs and constraints
