Plans to Establish
Ecuador Chapter Advance; PMI Members There Already Benefit from
Programs |
|
|
On 27 March, PMI Component Mentor Enrique
Cappella, MSc, PMP, visited Ecuador, where a steering team of
volunteers are finalizing a multi-year business plan to form a new
PMI chapter. Ecuadorian PMI members continue to meet, plan and learn
new project management skills as the plan moves forward.
Thanks to the high level of interest in the profession
and PMI, volunteer leaders have been able to offer membership
meetings for networking purposes and to organize professional
development seminars.
On 28 March, approximately 50 PMI members and
non-members attended the Leadership in Project Management seminar in
Quito. Attendees heard Enrique Ledesma, PMP, speak on critical
factors to success. Mr. Cappella, who presented on leadership as
well as PMI in Latin America, said that the event created a lot of
interest in PMI.
The event served as an opportunity to survey
participants on what values they expect from a PMI chapter. This
feedback is critical to the future planning and growth of the
chapter. |
