Virtual Communities Project (VCP) Frequently Asked Question.

What is the Virtual Communities Project?

VCP is a deliverable that was included within the scope of the Community Transformation Project in July 2006 and has become a separate project.

To address the issues and concerns of member value and satisfaction within the existing PMI SIG and college components, further development, testing and implementation of virtual community models is required.

An important reminder about component board elections.

Is your component currently conducting board elections? If so, then be sure to reference your component's bylaws and charter agreement for election guidelines.

All PMI components that have completed mid-year elections resulting in new officers and Data Exchange Program (DEP) recipients for 2007 must forward the information as soon as possible to PMI Component Relations Associate Nina Aiuto.

PMI Global Operations Center will immediately record the information in our component database to ensure it will be available to the correct officers and DEP recipients. Please include the officers' terms (start and end dates), their PMI ID numbers and whether or not they are DEP recipients.

Is your component’s contact information correct on PMI’s website?

Every PMI chapter, SIG and college has their primary contact information listed on PMI.org. Please confirm that your component’s information is correct.

If changes are needed, please e-mail the updated contact information to Component Relations Associate Philomena Aiuto.

Showcase your component at PMI Global Congresses in North America and Latin America.

Take advantage of high-visibility opportunities to promote your organization, membership, programs, products and services at PMI Global Congress 2007—North America, 6–9 October, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and PMI Global Congress 2007—Latin America , 6–8 November, in Santiago, Chile. Located in the congress exhibit hall, Components Central will display information from participating chartered components.

To participate, simply submit complete, current information by using the Microsoft® Word flyer template in the Component Leadership Online Community, Current News section. Your information and materials must be submitted via the template so that PMI can mount a uniform, attractive and high quality display. One flyer per component, please!

E-mail your completed template on or before Friday, 20 September to gil.marder@pmi.org.

Remember, you will save money when you register early to attend the congresses in North America and Latin America.
