PMI-Taipei, Taiwan Chapter (PMI-TW) has promoted project management knowledge and PMP certification in Taiwan since October 1999. PMI-TW was officially registered/incorporated by Taiwan’s Ministry of Interior in April 2003, as a non-profit nationwide organization, subordinated to Project Managment Institute (PMI). During 2005 and 2006, PMI-TW's member growth rate was one of the highest among all PMI components in the world. In March 2007 PMI-TW members officially reached 1,000 members which represents a Large Component (Category III) within the PMI organization.

The major Project Management related events of PMI-TW include:

1.Monthly member meetings conducted by workshops, lectures, or seminars, training, field trips in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung.

2.Quarterly board meetings to review the PMI-TW strategy and policies.

3.Annual member congress.

4.Annual international symposium/conference/Forum.

5.Regular PMI-TW e-newsletter to members.

6.Annual PMP Enterprise Award event.

7.Assit members to attend the Global Congress and GPAC related events.

8.Facilitate Project Management training courses.

9.Publish and promote Tradiational Chinese PMBOK 3rd version to the market.

In 2006, PMI-TW focused on providing seminars related to best practices of project management in different industries from our members and international professionals, who share their valuable experiences with other professionals. These events have aroused great attention from different cooprations and indutries in Taiwan and the Great China Region. As a consequence, attendees of the seminars have grown to an average of 180 people per event with a high satisifaction rate with the best member services and attractive topics in PM fields. These events were one of the driving forces that doubled our membership numbers over the past few years. This great success is consistent with what PMI advocates to integrate PMBOK knowledge areas with the implemented best practices, which has been approved as the right direction.

PMI 社團法人國際專案管理學會－台灣分會簡介

社團法人國際專案管理學會- 臺灣分會(PMI- Taiwan Chapter，簡稱PMI-TW) 於1999 年10月由PMI總會授權在台北成立, 其宗旨為促進專案管理知識和PMP 等相關專業認證及實務運用在台灣的發展 。PMI-TW 亦於2003 年4月於內政部正式登記為全國性非盈利性組織, 附屬於PMI總會之下 。在2005 年至2006 年期間, PMI-TW 的會員成長率為PMI所有分會中成長最快速的分會之一 ,現在PMI-TW會員在2007年3月也正式超過1,000人,在PMI總會是屬員大型的分會組織.

PMI-TW 主要的年度活動有:

(1) 舉辦每月活動；專題學術討論會、講座、或研討會; 
(2) 舉辦每季理監事會議；以研討本會之發展方向與策略。
(3) 舉辦每年年度會員大會; 
(4) 舉辦或協助會員參與每年年度國際研討會 ;
(5) 推展專案管理的相關書籍
(6) 協助舉辦專案管理相關訓練課程

2006 年起, PMI-TW 提升對公共之服務，包括參加研討會與相關知識引進的舉辦, 目的在於不同的行業在專案管理最佳實踐案例, 尤其邀請國際知名專家擔任作及參與我們的活動，過程中與專業人員共享他們重要的經驗。這些活動激起了台灣社會對專案管理的關注, 也提高了台灣分會服務會員的滿意度, 以及增加台灣在此方面與國際接軌之能力。在我們持續的努力之下, 每月研討會的參與者增長為單次平均180 位參與者。相較於去年是倍數的成長率。
